Role Overview
This senior leadership position is responsible for steering the operations function in coordination with the VP of Operations. The role focuses on building and executing the operating strategy, managing budgets and headcount planning, and contributing to cross-functional decisions with Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, and Finance.
Operations Leadership and Strategy
You will guide the operations management team in carrying out the strategic plan, while taking ownership of the budget, staffing plan, and capital planning. The role requires active partnership across key business functions to align operational priorities with company goals.
Production, Quality, and Delivery
Lead the Production and Quality teams through their managers to achieve targets for delivery performance, cost control, and product quality across a complex and varied product mix. You will be accountable for the Master Build Schedule, available capacity including subcontracting, first-pass yield, defect reduction, return rates, and an ISO 9001-aligned quality management system.
Test and Manufacturing Engineering
Direct the Test and Manufacturing Engineering team in creating adaptable test methods, fixtures, and processes that reduce changeover time. You will also oversee New Product Introduction from prototype stage through full-scale production and ensure design-for-manufacturability is built into product development.
Warehouse and Materials
Provide leadership to Warehouse and Materials operations through the Warehouse Manager. Responsibilities include setting expectations for receiving, kitting, inventory accuracy, shipping, workplace organization, cycle counting, and demand-based replenishment in a high-SKU environment.
Continuous Improvement
Set the continuous improvement agenda and strengthen Lean capability across the organization. The role includes sponsoring structured improvement initiatives, end-to-end process mapping, and ensuring that the management team sustains gains in productivity, quality, and cost.
Financial Performance and Compliance
Own the manufacturing P&L and establish an SQDCI scorecard to track performance. Lead monthly operating reviews, investigate and resolve variances, approve capital and equipment investments to improve asset use and return on investment, and ensure adherence to safety, quality, ISO 9001, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
Accountability
- Deliver operations KPIs within the approved budget.
- Drive Lean transformation across the operations organization.
- Maintain full compliance with safety, ISO 9001, and regulatory standards.
