Role Overview
The Senior Executive Recruiter plays a key role in advancing executive hiring efforts and helping The Home Depot attract high-caliber leaders who can support long-term growth and innovation. This position owns the end-to-end process for searches at the Senior Director and Officer (VP and above) levels, and partners on some of the organization’s most complex leadership hiring needs. The role focuses on identifying exceptional, diverse executive talent and shaping hiring strategies that strengthen the company’s leadership bench.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with senior external talent who may be a strong fit for strategic leadership roles, while continuously mapping new and diverse candidate pools.
- Develop and strengthen executive-level talent networks and pipelines that can be converted into leadership hires.
- Ensure recruiting activity follows all applicable federal, state, and local requirements, along with company policies and established sourcing, selection, and hiring procedures.
- Maintain accurate and reliable candidate and process data throughout the search lifecycle.
- Track labor market, business, economic, and competitive trends to inform leadership hiring decisions and recruitment planning.
- Design and execute executive search approaches aligned to business needs and enterprise talent priorities.
- Serve as a consultative partner to executive leaders and HR on executive search methods and candidate experience.
- Support hiring manager meetings, assess executive candidates, and contribute to strategic search engagements.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional work experience is required.
- Experience in a retained executive search firm or an internal executive recruiting function is preferred.
- Capability to recruit senior leaders for major public and private organizations is preferred.
- Strong executive presence, business judgment, and commercial awareness are preferred.
- Ability to understand enterprise strategy and turn market insight into practical recruiting recommendations is preferred.
- Broad understanding of business functions across a large organization is preferred.
- Strong presentation and project management skills are preferred.
- Comfort using multiple sourcing tools, AI-enabled methods, and CRM platforms is preferred.
Additional Requirements
This role reports to the Manager, Executive Recruiting and has no direct reports. It typically involves overnight travel between 5% and 20% of the time. The work is generally performed in a comfortable indoor environment, with only occasional unpleasant conditions. The job is largely sedentary, though there may be occasional opportunities to move around and rare instances of lifting light items.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent degree, is typically expected for this position. No additional education is required beyond that.
