Job description

Role summary

This position is for a Senior Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician within Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation organization in Dubai. The role centers on coordinating ticketed work, guiding technicians on inbound and outbound logistics, and keeping inventory records accurate while supporting the delivery of critical cloud infrastructure.

You will help drive the operational backbone that supports Microsoft’s online services and cloud platform. The environment includes opportunities for professional development such as rotation programs, diversity and inclusion learning, and certifications. The work is part of a global data center network built to support millions of servers and customers worldwide, with sustainability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement as core priorities.

What you will do

  • Organize and prioritize the team’s ticket queue, remove blockers, and help keep inventory and asset management work moving.
  • Guide technicians handling inbound and outbound deliveries, including purchase order receiving and rack movement supervisor activities.
  • Work with third-party warehouses, OEM vendors, and suppliers to support delivery and logistics flow.
  • Take on assigned tasks, and escalate issues when demand is high or situations require higher-level support.
  • Use process knowledge and technical judgment to resolve escalations, clear operational roadblocks, and support on-site or remote data center activities.
  • Keep a strong customer and stakeholder focus to improve service quality and value.
  • Ensure inventory counts and balance records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the RMA warranty process and ensure failed vendor hardware is handled through the correct tools and workflows.
  • Coordinate DBD destruction or shredding schedules with senior leadership and confirm the team follows required procedures.
  • Lead, support, or join daily safety briefings and reinforce compliance with safety practices such as PPE use, rack moving, heavy-equipment operation, lifting, and ladder/rolling stair safety.
  • Look for opportunities to simplify, improve, and automate existing processes and workstreams.
  • Represent the organization’s culture and values in day-to-day work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus at least 3 years of experience in warehouse, supply chain, inventory management, retail, warehouse operations, or a related role within an IT environment.
  • Equivalent practical experience may be accepted in place of the formal education and experience combination.
  • Ability to satisfy Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Must be able to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check at hire or transfer and again every two years after that.
  • Preferred: 3 or more years of experience in warehouse, supply chain, IT, and/or logistics work in a large organization, including operation of heavy-load movement equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or chassis lifts.

This opening is subject to a minimum posting period of 5 days, and applications may continue to be accepted until the role is filled.
