Job description

Role overview

This position is for a meticulous and driven Claims Specialist to assist with the examination, assessment, and administration of construction claims across infrastructure and building assignments. The work centers on reviewing contractor submissions for extension of time, variations, and cost-related claims, checking them against contract obligations, and keeping thorough records and status updates. You will collaborate with project teams, consultants, and contractors to spot risks, assess claim evidence, and help prepare responses and recommendations. The role suits professionals with a background in contracts, commercial work, or claims who want to strengthen their claims evaluation experience in a structured project setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Examine contractor claims, including extension of time requests, variation claims, and cost claims.
  • Support the assessment of entitlement and review the evidence submitted with each claim.
  • Check that claims follow contract wording, conditions, and notification timelines, including FIDIC or comparable forms.
  • Keep claims registers, logs, and tracking tools current and accurate.
  • Draft summary updates covering claim progress, delay matters, and possible financial exposure.
  • Help prepare responses to contractor claims and related correspondence.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal project stakeholders as needed.
  • Take part in claims and progress meetings and contribute inputs on open issues.
  • Spot risks, inconsistencies, and missing information in claim packages.
  • Assist senior colleagues with negotiation support and dispute avoidance efforts.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a similar discipline.
  • Between 5 and 12 years of experience on construction projects with some exposure to contracts or claims work.
  • Working familiarity with extension of time, variation, or claims documentation processes.
  • Understanding of FIDIC or a similar contract framework.
  • Prior involvement in infrastructure or building projects in the GCC is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret claim documents and contractual clauses accurately.
  • Good analytical ability, communication skills, and coordination capability.
  • Fluency in Arabic, both spoken and written, plus professional-level English.
  • Comfort with project reporting, documentation control, and stakeholder coordination.

Additional information

The role is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and is a full-time onsite position. The position is focused on claims support within a project environment and is intended for candidates looking to build deeper expertise in construction claims, contract administration, and dispute avoidance. The employer emphasizes working on landmark projects and contributing to work that has a broader community impact.

Who should apply

Professionals with relevant construction-sector experience, particularly those with exposure to contracts, claims, commercial functions, or project controls, are encouraged to apply. Candidates should be comfortable working with Arabic and English documentation and collaborating with multiple stakeholders on infrastructure or building projects.
