Role Summary
The Senior Business Development Engineer will lead growth initiatives for AMPIS in Qatar’s Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, and wider industrial markets. This position combines proactive sales development, client relationship management, and techno-commercial support through tendering and contract award stages. A strong understanding of QatarEnergy requirements, EPC workflows, and project-driven sales cycles is essential.
The role also includes commercial development support for AMPIS’s representation of Yokohama Rubber Co. within the Marine Hoses Division, with responsibility for coordinating, promoting, and converting major RFQs and tenders linked to this principal.
Core Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the energy, industrial, infrastructure, ministry, and government sectors, including Oil & Gas, LNG, and Petrochemicals.
- Create and execute business development plans that support AMPIS revenue and gross profit objectives.
- Promote AMPIS principals and product offerings through customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.
- Maintain a healthy opportunity pipeline and share regular forecasts with management.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with energy operators, international oil and gas companies, EPC contractors, subcontractors, industrial clients, and public-sector organizations.
- Use market intelligence to position AMPIS early in project development and vendor approval stages.
- Track market movements, competitor activity, and procurement approaches.
- Evaluate tender opportunities relevant to AMPIS capabilities and coordinate internal bid preparation.
- Support proposal submissions, technical clarifications, commercial negotiations, and final contract discussions.
- Ensure all offers meet approved margin and gross profit requirements.
- Serve as the commercial interface between AMPIS and international principals, with emphasis on Yokohama Rubber Co.
- Coordinate RFQs, tenders, and technical/commercial exchanges for Yokohama marine hose systems to ensure timely and effective responses.
- Contribute technical and commercial inputs for proposal development.
- Identify and help onboard additional principals that match market demand.
- Prepare periodic reports covering pipeline status, gross profit outlook, client engagement progress, and market/competitor insights.
- Follow company policies, governance rules, and confidentiality obligations.
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the Manager, BDM, Managing Director, or Finance Director within the scope of the role.
- Represent AMPIS in client meetings and commercial discussions when delegated.
- Maintain accountability for pipeline development, client relationship strength, revenue and gross profit achievement, margin compliance, and effective handling of Yokohama-related opportunities.
- Protect all commercial and client information with strict confidentiality.
- Attend training programs, seminars, and industry events to strengthen technical and commercial capability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Process Engineering.
- At least 10 years of business development or sales experience in Qatar within Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Marine, or related industrial sectors.
- Solid understanding of QatarEnergy, QatarEnergy LNG, EPC contractors, procurement channels, and industry dynamics.
- Prior experience working with major EPC contractors in Qatar.
- Strong knowledge of industrial and marine equipment such as piping, valves, pumps, compressors, instrumentation, process equipment, marine hoses, offshore loading systems, fluid transfer systems, and related engineering products.
- Background in marine hose systems, offshore offloading systems, and collaboration with international OEMs such as Yokohama Rubber Co. is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets in Qatar.
- Experience in energy-sector marketing and customer engagement.
- Well-established professional network among major energy operators, international oil and gas companies, EPC contractors, industrial organizations, and government entities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Comfort using office productivity software and digital business platforms.
- Strong commercial and financial understanding.
- Results-oriented with a clear business development mindset.
- Valid Qatar driving license.
