Overview
Inception is looking for an accomplished Senior Applied Scientist who has demonstrated strong results in advanced AI research and development. The role focuses on building efficient deep learning and generative AI systems, as well as designing new AI-led models that can be used across practical business settings. You will partner closely with product teams to turn emerging technologies into working solutions across multiple applications.

What you will do
In this position, you will contribute to research and development across computer vision, natural language processing, and audio signal processing. Your work will involve creating and improving advanced AI algorithms and deep learning models that support semantic understanding, multimodal data interpretation, and human-machine interaction. These solutions will be applied to practical use cases in sectors such as finance, oil and gas, environmental science, and healthcare.
- Design, study, and refine foundational and applied research that powers advanced AI algorithms and model capabilities.
- Stay up to date with new developments in AI, handle complex datasets, and shape models that can be used in real-world scenarios.
- Build solutions that combine text, audio, and visual inputs to improve how systems understand human interaction.
- Work with researchers and engineers to develop, improve, and optimize AI algorithms for performance, reliability, and scale.
- Partner with product teams to embed new models and algorithms into broader offerings and run proofs of concept based on client requirements.
- Identify business situations where AI can improve customer efficiency and operations.
- Support business development through technical assistance before and after sales.
Success measures
Performance in this role will be assessed through cost savings delivered, the number of use cases explored and datasets analyzed, the quantity of innovations and proofs of concept deployed, the number of processes improved, and customer NPS.
Requirements
- A master’s degree or Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, or an AI-related discipline. Specialization in computer vision, natural language processing, or speech and audio is strongly preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience developing AI algorithms across multiple data modalities.
- A strong record of research, preferably supported by peer-reviewed publications or product-focused research and development experience.
- A naturally curious and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
- Solid knowledge of current AI and machine learning advances.
- Excellent communication skills.
