Role Overview
Ontario Health is hiring a Senior Analyst to produce evidence-based insights that support population health planning, system performance measurement, and informed decision-making. In this role, you will contribute to the Population Health Data Strategy and Implementation team by using advanced analytics, evaluation methods, and clear data communication to help improve outcomes for people in Ontario.
This position supports high-priority work across Primary and Community Based Care. You will help create meaningful indicators, build reporting tools, and turn complex information into practical recommendations for internal teams and system partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct outcomes measurement, evaluation work, and performance analytics that support healthcare planning, policy development, and operational decisions.
- Create evaluation frameworks, analytic methods, and performance measures for both new and ongoing health initiatives.
- Build population health reports, dashboards, and other information products that convert complex data into usable insights.
- Use strong data practices, reporting standards, and documentation methods to ensure consistent and high-quality outputs.
- Act as a subject matter resource on methodology for projects and reports involving Ontario Health teams and outside partners such as the Ministry, Ontario Health Teams, providers, hospitals, and researchers.
- Help manage several data and analytics streams in Primary and Community Based Care by assisting teams with prioritization, issue resolution, and timely delivery.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand needs, share findings, and enable evidence-based decisions.
- Provide operational support for service requests and problem resolution, including root-cause review, process improvements, and simplified documentation.
- Coach and support junior analysts with operational reporting, ad hoc analysis, data requests, and related deliverables.
- Contribute to broader organizational work that supports Ontario Health’s goals, mission, and values.
Education and Experience
Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree in Information Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Health Administration, Health Informatics, or an equivalent related discipline. The role also requires four to eight years of overall experience, including three to five recent years focused on information management, data quality, or healthcare information management. Experience in evaluation and a strong understanding of health economics are also required.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong SQL and/or analytical-tool experience such as SAS, Python, or R is an asset. Familiarity with healthcare datasets including CIHI DAD, NACRS, OHIP, and similar sources is also helpful. The role calls for advanced Excel ability, including data handling, complex formulas, and pivot tables, along with the ability to translate analysis into clear recommendations, solve problems thoughtfully, work well with diverse stakeholders, and communicate results effectively in both written and verbal form. A good understanding of Ontario health funding across sectors, including related processes, reforms, and accountability structures, is also important.
Work Location and Arrangement
This is an in-office position at an approved Ontario Health location. Ontario-based candidates are welcome to apply, and all applicants must be residents of Ontario to be considered.
