Job description
About Dream Realization Lab (DRL)
Dream Realization Lab (DRL) is an advanced prototyping and product-development center created to turn concepts into working solutions. The facility gives researchers, startups, students, and industry collaborators access to modern resources for design, fabrication, electronics, and prototyping.
Role Overview
As DRL grows, it is looking for an experienced Senior Advanced Manufacturing Technician to support the setup and day-to-day operation of a modern manufacturing workshop. The environment will include advanced machining, EDM, waterjet cutting, hybrid manufacturing, and metal additive manufacturing systems.
What You Will Do
- Install, commission, validate, and run advanced manufacturing equipment.
- Assist with CNC machining, EDM, waterjet operations, hybrid manufacturing, and metal additive manufacturing work.
- Create and update standard operating procedures, safety records, and equipment maintenance plans.
- Contribute to prototype builds and small-batch manufacturing assignments.
- Work closely with engineers, researchers, startups, students, and industry partners.
- Help with tool selection, fixture design, process improvement, and manufacturing planning.
- Carry out preventive upkeep and diagnose issues in manufacturing equipment.
- Train users on machine operation, workshop protocols, and safety practices.
- Keep the workshop clean, orderly, safe, and efficient.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline, along with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in machining, manufacturing, prototyping, or workshop operations. Practical experience with CNC milling and turning equipment, preferably HAAS or similar industrial systems, is important. Exposure to EDM, waterjet, advanced machining tools, hybrid manufacturing, or metal additive manufacturing is strongly preferred. You should also be comfortable working with CAM software, interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models, and manufacturing documentation, and communicating clearly while solving problems effectively.
Technologies Used at DRL
The workshop is equipped with CNC machining centers, EDM systems, waterjet cutting platforms, hybrid manufacturing machinery, and metal additive manufacturing capability to support advanced product development and innovation.
