Job description
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Accountant to lead our financial function and support growth for our property management company. You will drive financial planning, risk management, and reporting, helping to shape long-term strategy and sustainable scale-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning and forecasting aligned with business strategy.
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on growth plans, budgeting, and capital allocation.
- Evaluate strategic opportunities such as investments, new service lines, and partnerships.
- Oversee all financial operations including accounting, cash flow, billing, payroll, tax, and compliance.
- Implement and maintain robust financial systems, controls, and reporting frameworks.
- Ensure timely and accurate management accounts and statutory financial statements.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the business meets its commitments.
- Identify financial risks and propose effective mitigation plans.
- Manage insurance and ensure compliance with Irish and EU regulations, including tax, VAT, and GDPR where relevant.
- Build and lead a small finance function, mentoring finance and accounting staff.
- Establish best practice financial policies and procedures.
- Oversee service charge accounting, trust fund management (if applicable), and client fund reconciliations.
- Collaborate with operations to align property performance metrics and financial outcomes.
Skills & Qualifications
- Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent finance degree.
- Significant experience in finance leadership, ideally within property, real estate services, or SMEs.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership capability.
- Experience with property management software and financial systems is advantageous.
