Kula Bio is an agricultural biotechnology company focused on creating next-generation biological products that support stronger crop performance and more sustainable farming. The Scientist I role is centered on formulation and product development, with an emphasis on turning complex biological science into practical, scalable solutions for real-world use.

This position is based in Natick, Massachusetts and is designed for someone who enjoys applying scientific rigor, working across functions, and solving technical challenges from concept through execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and refine formulations with a focus on stability, viability, and how the product performs in the field.
• Convert laboratory findings into scalable, product-ready approaches.
• Develop assays and conduct experiments that support quick, evidence-based decisions.
• Work closely with teams in research and development, manufacturing, and product functions.

Candidate Profile

• Doctoral degree plus at least 2 years of experience in formulation, biotechnology, or product development.
• Practical experience working with live biological systems.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and a hands-on approach to solving problems.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment and managing work independently from start to finish.

Compensation

The expected annual salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000. Final pay will depend on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skill set.
