Job description

Overview

This role focuses on safeguarding raw material and packaging material quality, ensuring finished goods comply with quality and food safety standards, and keeping laboratory inventory sufficiently stocked so operations never face a shortage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect raw materials and packaging materials arriving at the plant so they meet the required acceptance and rejection criteria.
  • Check RM/PM quality at receipt and confirm compliance with FLI quality standards.
  • Track RM/PM testing outcomes, raise non-conformance issues with service providers, and coordinate corrective action follow-up.
  • Prepare and maintain precise, complete records and reports for all relevant stakeholders.
  • Carry out periodic audits of raw material and packaging stores, including storage conditions, FIFO/FEFO adherence, and allergen controls.
  • Support consistent execution of food safety policies across the site.
  • Verify that materials received through the RM/PM store align with required quality benchmarks and inspection criteria.
  • Help implement quality control practices and standards for vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensure GMP and GHK practices are followed, including the master cleaning schedule, laboratory safety, and GLP requirements as per ASHA and internal/external audit expectations such as HACCP, AIB, personal hygiene, and process audits.
  • Drive ASHA compliance for the plant site.
  • Communicate root-cause findings and failure analysis to vendors, then track completion of corrective actions.
  • Raise and monitor deviation or discrepancy reports with vendors and the purchase team, and follow through on preventive and corrective measures.
  • Maintain KC 13-related RM/PM documentation and ensure full compliance.
  • Coordinate monthly AA sample activities.
  • Train RM/PM store, 13pl, and laboratory teams on technical, quality, and food safety requirements.
  • Compile GSM data, exception reports, and RM/PM quality reports.
  • Ensure laboratory instruments and other online measuring devices are calibrated on time.
  • Conduct personnel hygiene checks across the plant and support improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. or B.Tech. in Food Technology.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry, specifically in RM/PM checking roles within food operations.
  • Working knowledge of RM/PM testing, food safety systems, QA systems, and GMP practices.
  • Strong analytical ability and sound interpersonal skills.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build trust and work well with others.
  • Ability to handle pressure and maintain a high standard of integrity.
