About the Role

US Foods is seeking a Sanitation Lead to oversee the cleaning and maintenance of our division building and related property. In this role, you will act as a lead for other sanitation workers, assigning daily tasks and prioritizing workloads. This is a foundational role that contributes directly to the success of US Foods by upholding our standards of cleanliness and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the daily activities of sanitation workers, ensuring efficient task completion.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the entire warehouse facility, including sweeping floors and cleaning all areas.
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying trash bins, cleaning trash areas, and operating the trash compactor as needed.
  • Perform deep cleaning of product bays and pull pallets as part of a rotation schedule.
  • Address and clean up spills and damaged product, assessing if the product is resalable or requires disposal according to food safety regulations.
  • Conduct light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, collecting recyclables, and managing paper and shrink wrap.
  • Inspect freezers and coolers for leaks or ice buildup, reporting any issues.
  • Prepare reports and forms to document cleaning activities, spills, and product damage.
  • May be responsible for ordering maintenance supplies.
  • Clean various other areas including break rooms, restrooms, test kitchens, and offices.
  • Maintain the exterior grounds and dumpster areas.
  • Operate equipment such as scrubbers, pallet jacks, and high lifts as required for sanitation duties.

Requirements

  • High School education or GED is preferred.
  • Previous experience in custodial or sanitation work is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Willingness to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning and maintenance.
