Role overview
Saft is hiring a Sales Manager to build demand for its advanced battery solutions across the energy storage market in the Americas. In this role, you will work to grow revenue, strengthen market position, and improve profitability by identifying business opportunities and shaping offerings that better match customer needs. The position focuses on selling to major utilities, independent power producers, and related contractors while acting as a primary contact for prospects and existing customers.
What you'll do
- Promote Saft's products and services to current and prospective customers using clear, compelling value-based messaging.
- Lead technical presentations and develop relationships with consultants, engineering firms, EPCs, FEED organizations, and other stakeholders in power generation and distribution or industrial markets.
- Assess customer needs and compare them with current offerings to recommend suitable solutions.
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with clients and prospects.
- Generate new opportunities through outreach, including cold calling.
- Address customer issues and complaints quickly to maintain high satisfaction.
- Work toward agreed sales targets and delivery expectations.
- Coordinate closely with internal teams and other departments to support sales efforts.
- Review market potential, monitor sales activity, and prepare status updates and territory reports.
- Share customer insights, competitive intelligence, and product/service opportunities with management.
- Stay current on industry trends, effective sales practices, and promotional approaches.
- Keep improving performance by using feedback from both internal teams and external customers.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a closely related discipline.
- Background in B2B outside sales, ideally in power generation, utilities, renewable energy, or battery energy storage systems.
- At least 5 years of field sales experience focused on technical solutions.
- A consistent track record of meeting growth goals and operating within budget.
- Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in MS Office.
- Highly driven, target-oriented, and proven in a sales environment.
- Excellent skills in selling, negotiation, and verbal and written communication.
- Good prioritization, time management, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to tailor presentations to different audiences.
- Strong relationship-building skills and openness to feedback.
- Willingness to travel about 50% of the time.
