Job description
About the company
Swiggy is one of India’s major on-demand delivery platforms, built around technology-led logistics and a customer-first service model. It operates across 500+ cities, works with hundreds of thousands of restaurant partners, employs more than 5,000 people, and supports a delivery fleet of over 2 lakh independent executives. Since beginning as a hyperlocal food delivery service in 2014, it has expanded into a broader convenience platform known for fast, reliable delivery and a work environment shaped by continuous innovation.
Role overview
The Sales Manager I position is focused on acquiring and nurturing single-outlet independent restaurants within a specific city. You will serve as the key contact for these partners, understanding their business, identifying pain points, and helping them grow through stronger orders, better visibility, and improved customer engagement. The job is highly consultative and field-based, requiring strong relationship-building skills, adaptability, and genuine ownership of partner success.
Ways of working
This role follows a mandatory on-location work model. Employees must be based in and work from their designated posting location or office base city.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a defined territory and build effective, long-term relationships with assigned restaurant partners.
- Spend significant time in the field visiting restaurants, demonstrating products, reviewing ROI, and explaining the mutual value of partnering with Swiggy.
- Use a consultative sales approach by asking detailed questions about a restaurant’s current channels, delivery setup, marketing expenditure, and business objectives, then recommend suitable solutions.
- Handle the complete monthly partner journey, including pitching, negotiation, activation, and continued support.
- Monitor adoption and performance indicators, investigate why growth may be lagging, and take corrective action when needed.
- Take ownership of revenue targets in your territory and actively manage pipeline progress and conversion performance.
- Work extensively with city and central tracking sheets, requiring advanced capability in Excel, Google Sheets, and WSP.
- Keep track of restaurant industry trends, competitor activity, and local market shifts, and share field insights that can influence product development.
- Conduct approximately 80 to 90 in-person meetings with restaurant partners each month.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant has 0 to 2 years of experience in B2B sales, field sales, or business development, preferably in FMCG, food and beverage, or the hotel sector. A strong record of hitting or surpassing targets and managing a personal sales pipeline is important. Because restaurant businesses operate continuously, the role requires a candidate who can take full ownership of the growth of the assigned partner portfolio. Strong comfort with data and advanced spreadsheet skills is essential, including the ability to build pivot tables, use VLOOKUP, and create dashboards independently. A postgraduate background, preferably in marketing or sales, is preferred.
Equal opportunity statement
The employer states that all qualified candidates will be considered without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic.
Additional information
This is a full-time, onsite role based in Rajasthan, India. The posting does not mention a salary, stipend, number of openings, start date, or application deadline.
