About the Company

Egger Pumps has been designing and producing centrifugal pumps and control valves for municipal and industrial applications for 70 years. The Swiss family-owned business, Emile Egger & Cie SA, focuses on premium pump solutions for demanding fluids with high solids content. Its product range includes patented solutions such as Turo Vortex, Turo Vortex TA Pumps for raw municipal sewage, and Iris Diaphragm Control Valves.

Role Overview

The Sales Engineer will lead sales growth and business development for pump solutions across assigned territories and industry segments. This position combines technical selling, customer management, and market expansion to help meet revenue and order-booking goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spot and convert new business opportunities within the allocated territory.
  • Develop relationships with current customers to increase revenue and strengthen retention.
  • Meet sales targets, order booking objectives, and broader business growth plans.
  • Create and implement territory-wise sales strategies to improve market coverage.
  • Assess customer needs and propose the most suitable pump configurations and solutions.
  • Work with the Application Engineering team to build technical proposals, specifications, and quotations.
  • Guide customers on product selection, application fit, and technical clarifications.
  • Respond promptly to customer questions and technical issues.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with end users, consultants, EPC contractors, OEMs, and channel partners.
  • Visit customers regularly and follow up to uncover new opportunities.
  • Coordinate with service teams to support after-sales service and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Track market movements, competitor activity, and changing customer needs.
  • Share feedback on opportunities, customer expectations, and product enhancement ideas.
  • Keep CRM records accurate and prepare sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
  • Take part in exhibitions, technical seminars, and industry events to build visibility and market presence.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Application, and Service teams to ensure smooth project delivery and customer support.
  • Contribute to improvement initiatives that strengthen customer experience and operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

The role calls for strong knowledge of centrifugal pumps and related pumping systems, along with prior experience selling into sectors such as chemical, water and wastewater, process industries, manufacturing, or infrastructure. The candidate should be comfortable reading technical specifications, tailoring solutions to customer needs, and working in a consultative sales environment. Strong negotiation, relationship management, and business development capabilities are essential, as is the willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region. Proficiency with MS Office, CRM platforms, and digital sales tools is expected, along with excellent written and verbal English communication and a collaborative, customer-focused mindset.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Compensation

The position offers an annual salary in the range of INR 9,00,000 to INR 11,00,000.
