Role Summary
The Sales Assistant supports sales growth, creates a strong shopping experience, and helps keep the market hall operating to standard. This position involves assisting customers, arranging merchandise, maintaining the store environment, and completing tasks assigned by the shopkeeper. Success in the role depends on achieving sales goals, following company rules, and delivering reliable service with a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve or surpass the weekly sales target.
- Share timely and relevant product information with customers.
- Take part in all inventory activities for the market hall.
- Make a strong first impression through a positive attitude and proper dress code.
- Welcome customers as soon as they enter the store with a smile.
- Show enthusiasm and a positive outlook toward the products, brand, and organisation.
- Deliver a consistently positive customer experience.
- Keep the store clean, tidy, and well-organised in line with standards.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the shopkeeper.
- Attend store meetings and related events as required.
- Comply fully with IKEA policies and procedures.
- Arrive on time and follow the assigned work schedule.
- Remain adaptable and cooperate well with colleagues and management.
Skills and Requirements
- Strong customer service ability.
- Proven capability to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Good organisation and attention to store presentation standards.
- Consistent compliance with company processes and policies.
- High School education.
- At least 1 year of experience in retail sales.
- Clear verbal communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift certain products.
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours.
