Job description

Role overview

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering an opportunity to join a large and highly regarded NHS trust. The therapies and rehabilitation team is described as welcoming and supportive, with a strong focus on helping staff grow their clinical expertise and project capability. The trust is committed to delivering excellent patient care, strong education, and internationally recognised research.

The post is suited to a physiotherapist who is energetic, adaptable, and driven, with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to bring fresh ideas. A collaborative mindset and a wide range of student-level experience are important for success in this role.

Rotational structure

This Band 5 rotational post runs in six-month blocks across a broad mix of clinical areas. Placements may include Critical Care, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Oncology and Haematology, General Medicine, Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Rehabilitation, and Neurology.

Rotations take place across multiple sites, including University College Hospital, UCH at Westmoreland Street, The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and St Pancras Rehab Unit (CNWL). Depending on the rotation, staff will take part in either 7-day working, weekend duties, or on-call arrangements.

Main duties

The post involves delivering physiotherapy care to patients with a wide variety of needs in different clinical settings. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support patient-centred treatment and rehabilitation.

Development and support

The department places a strong emphasis on staff development and service improvement. Supervision is provided regularly, along with in-service training to support learning and progression throughout the rotations.

Eligibility and registration

Applicants should already have a degree result and must either hold HCPC registration or have registration pending. Candidates are expected to be available for rotational duties including weekends, on-call work, and 7-day service participation where required.
