Job description
About the organisation
Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service relies on a strong workforce to deliver quality healthcare, and the Workforce Division plays a central role in making that possible. The team focuses on attracting, supporting, developing, and retaining the people who keep hospitals and health services operating across Central Queensland.
The division contributes across workforce planning, employee wellbeing, learning and development, and organisational change. Its HR professionals work collaboratively to provide a supportive, practical, and purpose-led service that strengthens the workforce and supports better healthcare outcomes for the region.
About the role
This position is responsible for supporting workforce operations by coordinating, setting up, and maintaining rosters that provide appropriate coverage and help deploy staff and resources effectively across the service.
You will partner with managers and employees to manage scheduling, attendance, and leave arrangements, with a focus on accurate workforce planning and smooth payroll results.
The role also involves developing productive relationships with stakeholders and offering guidance on rostering procedures, workforce management systems, and changing business needs in a fast-moving environment.
In addition, you will support service quality by troubleshooting issues, checking data accuracy, maintaining records, and applying industrial awards, policies, and procedures to help ensure operational performance.
About you
To succeed in this role, you should have practical experience in rostering, workforce support, payroll processing, or a similar administrative role within a large and complex service environment, along with the ability to balance competing priorities.
You will be well organised, adaptable, and able to stay effective under pressure, using strong analysis and problem-solving skills to work through scheduling and workforce challenges.
Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills are important, as the role requires you to build effective working relationships, collaborate with others, and confidently support managers and colleagues.
You should be comfortable working with workforce systems and industrial frameworks, and able to learn new processes quickly. Experience with Workbrain and/or myHR is highly regarded, though not essential.
Remuneration and benefits
The total monthly remuneration value is up to $8,382 per month and includes:
