Overview
RAAFA WA is looking for a proactive Roster Coordinator to join its central rostering team at the Air Force Memorial Estate in Bull Creek, Western Australia. This permanent full-time role was opened following an internal transfer and plays an important part in making sure services across WA are staffed appropriately, efficiently, and in line with organisational values.
The position operates from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and also includes a rotating on-call arrangement covering evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Key responsibilities
- Create and keep up-to-date fortnightly rosters in Optima, while making sure they comply with awards, enterprise agreements, and relevant laws.
- Help maintain safe, consistent care by arranging the right mix of skills and sufficient staffing levels.
- Serve as the first contact for leave requests, shift allocation queries, and coordination of onboarding and orientation.
- Work alongside managers and recruitment teams to spot roster shortfalls early and lessen dependence on agency workers.
- Make sure rosters support required care minutes, funding obligations, and budget expectations.
- Maintain accurate records that can support audit and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with People & Culture to confirm staff training, competencies, and other compliance items remain current.
What the role offers
- Competitive salary plus salary packaging and superannuation.
- Salary packaging up to $18,549, available through the organisation’s non-profit status.
- Free onsite parking across all sites, with ample availability.
- Access to ongoing career development pathways.
- Employee Assistance Program with confidential counselling support for personal or work-related concerns.
- Employee referral bonuses for recommending suitable friends.
- Access to employee discounts and benefits through RAAFA Rewards.
- Complimentary Perth Zoo membership.
- A welcoming, supportive, and positive workplace culture.
About you
- You have prior experience in rostering or workforce coordination, preferably in aged care, healthcare, or community services.
- You understand compliance requirements in aged care, including awards and workforce regulations.
- You are highly organised and able to juggle competing priorities in a busy environment.
- You communicate clearly and confidently with both managers and staff.
- You pay close attention to detail, especially for compliance, reporting, and record-keeping.
- Experience using Optima or a similar rostering platform is considered an advantage.
