Job description
Role Overview
The Ritz-Carlton, Doha is looking for a Rooms Technician to support the upkeep and reliability of the property’s technical and mechanical systems. This is a full-time, non-management role based in West Bay Lagoon, Doha, Qatar, within the Engineering & Facilities function.
The hotel is a luxury resort known for refined service, extensive rooms and suites, dining outlets, spa and fitness facilities, pool and beach access, and event spaces. Key Duties
- Check, service, repair, and preserve HVAC, air quality, and refrigeration equipment.
- Carry out daily checks of the mechanical plant and keep it operating properly.
- Track and regulate the temperature throughout the property.
- Review and manage energy consumption and utility usage.
- Adjust, calibrate, and verify controls, gauges, meters, and similar equipment.
- Assemble, fit, install, test, and maintain electrical systems and electronic wiring.
- Assemble, install, and maintain piping assemblies, fittings, valves, and related components.
- Handle routine maintenance for pool and spa systems.
- Follow all company, safety, and security procedures and complete required safety training and certifications.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, and injuries promptly.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential company information and assets.
- Greet guests according to service standards and respond to their needs with professionalism.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues and build cooperative working relationships.
- Support quality, efficiency, productivity, safety, and cost-saving improvements where appropriate.
- Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Experience and Qualifications
Applicants should have a technical, trade, or vocational school qualification and at least 3 years of relevant work experience. No supervisory background is required.
Required certifications and documents include EPA Universal Certification, a valid driver’s license, and HVAC certification.
Working Conditions
The role involves physical work in varied environments, including confined areas, elevated spaces, stairs, ramps, ladders, and uneven or slippery surfaces. The job may require reaching overhead and below the knees, handling objects of different sizes and weights, and assisting with lifting items over 100 pounds. The position also requires moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing items up to 50 pounds without assistance.
