About the Role
Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Room Preventive Maintenance Technician for its Doha location. This full-time, onsite position involves responding to guest repair requests, performing routine maintenance on equipment and building systems, and ensuring a high standard of facility upkeep. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues, contributing to a positive guest experience and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to guest requests for repairs and maintenance.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical systems, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machinery for potential issues.
- Transport tools, equipment, and communication devices as needed.
- Identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment and building utilities.
- Manage maintenance inventory, including ordering necessary parts and supplies.
- Document daily activities and any encountered issues for shift handovers.
- Perform basic repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.
- Execute surface preparation, painting, and minor repairs to drywall and wood trim.
- Replace light bulbs and air conditioning filters, ensuring thorough cleanup of work areas.
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair various equipment, plumbing, and electrical components.
- Program televisions and manage inventory for housekeeping and engineering departments.
- Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system for all maintenance tasks.
- Perform basic computer tasks, such as updating air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
- Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
- Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Properly store all flammable materials.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and uniform.
- Protect company assets and maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Welcome and assist guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their needs.
- Assist individuals with disabilities and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- Adhere to established quality expectations and standards.
- Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and support team goals.
- Communicate effectively using clear and professional language.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and heavier items with assistance.
- Navigate stairs, service ramps, and ladders.
- Perform tasks requiring reaching overhead, below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Enter and retrieve work-related information using computers.
- Undertake other reasonable job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
- Some experience in general maintenance, including exterior and interior surface preparation and painting, is required.
- Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is considered a plus.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
- Ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
- Proficiency in using the Lockout/Tagout system.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving objects up to 50 pounds independently, and heavier objects with assistance.
- Ability to navigate various physical environments, including stairs and ladders.
- Willingness to perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, and stooping.

Eligibility
This role is open to individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent, and some experience in general maintenance, painting, and surface preparation. Prior experience in hotel engineering is advantageous. A valid driver's license is mandatory. Candidates should possess basic computer skills and the physical capacity to perform the required duties, including lifting and navigating various work environments.
