Role Overview

The Room Attendant is responsible for keeping guest rooms, shared spaces, and exterior areas clean, presentable, and aligned with brand expectations. The role also involves reporting defects, following safety and quality procedures, and supporting the housekeeping team to deliver a consistently high standard of service.

Key Duties

  • Clean and service guest rooms, common areas, and exterior spaces in line with brand standards so they remain tidy and well maintained.
  • Log maintenance issues in guest rooms, public zones, and back-of-house areas using KnowCross.
  • Follow the hotel’s brand requirements and quality audit expectations at all times.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals safely and in line with health and safety procedures.
  • Deliver warm, helpful guest service, including in difficult situations.
  • Support housekeeping colleagues with additional tasks whenever needed.
  • Take part in all required training and continue building knowledge and capability.

Requirements

  • Hotel housekeeping experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities, along with solid problem-solving skills.
  • Physical stamina to stand, lift, push, and pull for long periods.
  • Sharp attention to detail and a strong focus on cleanliness standards.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Working knowledge of proper cleaning methods and safe chemical use.
  • Good command of English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
  • Ability to stay productive in a busy environment while managing several tasks.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to adjust to demanding situations.
