Role Overview
The Room Attendant role in the Housekeeping department focuses on keeping guest accommodations and assigned common areas spotless, well-stocked, and ready for occupancy at all times. The position supports the hotel’s cleanliness and service standards to ensure a comfortable and welcoming stay for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and service guest rooms in line with hotel housekeeping standards.
- Make beds and replace bed linen, pillow covers, and towels as needed.
- Clean washrooms, replenish toiletries, and maintain a hygienic environment.
- Dust and wipe down furniture, windows, mirrors, and other fixtures.
- Vacuum and mop floors whenever required.
- Restock guest amenities such as water bottles, tea/coffee sachets, and other complimentary items.
- Inform the Housekeeping Supervisor about repair needs or any damaged items found in rooms.
- Make sure rooms are prepared before guest arrival and check-in.
- Maintain cleanliness in corridors, staircases, and other allocated public spaces.
- Follow all safety, hygiene, and sanitation rules during daily work.
- Respond to guest requests in a courteous and timely manner.
- Respect guest privacy and handle all information with confidentiality.
- Keep housekeeping trolleys clean, arranged properly, and fully supplied.
- Return any lost-and-found items immediately according to hotel policy.
- Support deep-cleaning assignments whenever required.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment correctly and responsibly.
- Complete assigned rooms and tasks within the daily schedule.
- Take part in departmental meetings and training programs.
