This full-time, on-site role is for a restoration technician who helps recover homes and businesses after property damage. The job focuses on responding quickly to emergencies, carrying out cleanup and restoration work, and supporting customers through difficult situations. The position is based in Alton, Taranaki, New Zealand.
What the role involves
- Act fast when emergencies arise, including water-related and fire-related damage.
- Carry out restoration work such as water removal, addressing fire damage, setting up specialized equipment, and demolition where needed.
- Stock, organize, and look after company vehicles with the tools, equipment, and supplies needed for each job.
- Share safety concerns, site observations, and equipment/tool needs with supervisors in a clear and timely way.
- Speak with clients professionally, answer questions, and explain the restoration process.
- Handle cleanup and restoration tasks such as extracting water, drying affected areas, and cleaning the site.

Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required.

- IICRC certification would be an advantage.
Physical demands
- You must be able to lift at least 50 pounds regularly and, with assistance, up to 100 pounds at times.
- The work may involve climbing ladders, reaching ceiling-level areas, and working in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics.
- You should be comfortable with repeated pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.
- You need to be able to work around cleaning chemicals and related agents.
