Its members contribute to major global issues such as climate action, clean energy, food security and health, helping build a safer and more sustainable future. With a refreshed strategy, new leadership and strong ambitions for growth, inclusion and influence, this is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is expanding IChemE’s reach and impact.

Role overview

The Reporting and Insight Analyst will be responsible for producing strong analysis and actionable insights that help stakeholders understand performance, trends, risks and opportunities. The role supports better decisions that drive impact and income across the organisation.

Working with relevant stakeholders, you will help design KPIs and a strategic measurement framework, encouraging a culture where data supports decision-making at every level.

Stakeholder engagement and communication

  • Partner with the management team to create KPIs and a strategic measures framework that supports performance improvement and data-led decisions.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organisation to understand reporting needs and wider business challenges, taking a proactive approach to uncover the reasons behind data requests.
  • Develop trusted working relationships with colleagues and senior stakeholders.
  • Present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support leadership with concise reporting and proactive analysis that informs decisions.

Data and insight

  • Collect, analyse and interpret information from multiple internal systems such as CRM, membership platforms and finance tools, turning complex datasets into practical insights for different audiences.
  • Strengthen reporting and data visibility by developing and improving Power BI dashboards that support performance tracking.
  • Spot trends, patterns, risks and opportunities to guide strategic and operational choices.
  • Use data to identify inefficiencies, risk areas and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Help teams understand findings and translate them into actions that improve outcomes, while challenging assumptions where needed.
  • Contribute to forecasting, planning and performance monitoring activities.

Systems, data management and governance

  • Work with structured data environments, including SQL databases, to extract, check and transform data.
  • Collaborate with the Head of IT and Head of Solutions to protect data quality, accuracy and consistency across systems.
  • Apply strong practices in data protection, governance and compliance, including GDPR.
  • Support the creation of scalable data models and reporting structures.
  • Keep an eye on emerging tools and ways of working, including AI, to improve speed and flexibility.

Other information

This is an international organisation, so the role requires flexibility and occasional involvement in business discussions outside normal working hours.

The position is UK-based and offers flexible working: typically three days per week in the Rugby office and the remaining days working from home.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

This is a permanent full-time role of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The starting salary is approximately £50,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including an excellent pension scheme.

Applicants are required to submit a CV and cover letter explaining how their experience matches the role and why they are a strong fit. A full job description can be requested from the HR team.

Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.

The closing date is close of business on Sunday 5 July 2026. IChemE may interview exceptional candidates and make an offer before the closing date if appropriate.

Interviews are expected to take place in July.
