About the Role
Join AVILUS as a Remote Pilot for the innovative Bussard aircraft, a fixed-wing unmanned aerial system designed for surveillance and intelligence missions. This role is crucial for operating our advanced UAVs, which have a maximum take-off weight of up to 700 kg and are powered by the military-grade RasCore avionics system. You will be part of a team developing a new class of unmanned aircraft, bridging the gap between small UAVs and traditional manned systems. Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize flight test orders.
- Execute flight tests and remotely operate the aircraft.
- Manage flight test facilities and equipment.
- Document flight tests thoroughly.
- Provide qualitative analysis and feedback on flight control system performance.
- Continuously improve operational procedures.
- Track activities and report to relevant panels.
- Organize and conduct flight crew training.
Requirements
- Completed or ongoing degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable field.
- Demonstrated practical experience in fixed-wing piloting (SPL or higher).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Optional knowledge of Polarion and Gitlab is a plus.
- Must successfully pass an aptitude test as part of the application process.
- Must be able to obtain security clearance (Ü2-Sabotageschutz approval). Note that relationships with individuals in certain countries may affect assessment.
