About the Role
This position is part of a collaborative, high-visibility team that helps drive global initiatives across a broad cross-functional environment. The work has direct impact on retail and CPG products that carry strong brand recognition. In this role, you will partner with internal teams, suppliers, and industry specialists to make sure Starbucks regulatory compliance requirements are built into active programs, supporting the goal of maintaining partner and customer confidence in product safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Use scientific judgment to support accurate label review and reliable data-handling practices, while helping put program plans and strategic initiatives into action.
- Maintain current working knowledge of food regulations in the United States and Canada.
- Apply technical reasoning to investigate root causes and solve problems effectively.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in both spoken and written formats.
Preferred Background
- Degree in General Science, Food Science, Nutrition, Food Safety, Microbiology, or a closely related field, typically with 4 years of study.
- Prior experience in food science, nutrition or labeling compliance, regulatory work, or data management.

This role is based onsite four days per week. Vacation accrual varies by state and role level: in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND, or RI, vacation can accrue up to 120 hours per year for roles below director and 200 hours per year for director-level roles and above, with higher caps in California; in other states, annual vacation begins at 120 hours for roles below director and 200 hours for director-level roles and above. Pay is determined by factors such as skills, experience, location, and internal equity, and candidates are not usually hired at the top of the pay range.
