Role overview
Oceania is looking for a part-time Registered Nurse to join the Heretaunga village team in Upper Hutt. In this role, you’ll work within a nurse-led environment and use your clinical judgement and hands-on expertise to deliver well-rounded care for residents. The position involves coordinating everyday care requirements, supporting colleagues, and developing meaningful relationships with residents, their families, and community allied health professionals.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee residents’ day-to-day care needs while encouraging and assisting the wider care team.
- Carry out nursing assessments and interventions, working both on your own and in collaboration with others.
- Exercise professional autonomy when making important decisions about resident care.
- Develop trusted relationships with residents, their families, and external allied health providers.
- Offer leadership, direction, coaching, and practical support to care staff and fellow team members.
What you should bring
- A current Annual Practising Certificate for New Zealand.
- A strong commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Prior experience working with clinical systems.
- InterRAI experience is helpful, though not required.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Good organisation and time-management abilities.
- Confidence in mentoring and coaching other staff.
- Willingness to work a rotating roster.
Job details
- Hourly pay ranges from NZ$37.38 to NZ$53.22 depending on experience.
- The roster runs fortnightly and includes weekends and night shifts.
