Role overview
Redroofs Lifecare in Dunedin City, Otago is seeking a Registered Nurse for a fixed-term part-time assignment. This role is based in a 50-bed care home where the team values compassion, empathy, and a welcoming approach to people from all backgrounds.

Work pattern and location
- Location: Redroofs Lifecare, Dunedin City, Otago, New Zealand
- Employment type: Part-time, fixed term
- Contract end date: 31/07/2026
- Hours: 24 hours per week
- Shift coverage: AM, PM, and weekend shifts
What the role involves
You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality care as the team expands nursing services and introduces hospital-standard support. The position calls for a nurse who brings warmth, patience, and a positive approach to resident care, while helping create a calm and caring atmosphere.
- Guide and support caregivers so they can deliver excellent day-to-day care
- Create, review, and track care plans
- Perform clinical assessments
- Build trusted relationships with residents, families, and GPs
- Assist the Clinical Services Manager and Care Home Manager
Experience and professional requirements
- Prior experience working as a Registered Nurse, either in New Zealand or overseas
- A current APC is required
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
- A genuine commitment to helping others and a friendly, optimistic approach
- Ability to work well in a team with empathy and a strong desire to make a difference
- Interest in ongoing improvement and a solid understanding of health and safety practices
