Role overview
This position is responsible for ensuring that HR processes and systems run smoothly across the assigned region, within defined process standards and turnaround times, so employees remain engaged, productive, and well supported.
Role context and key challenges
The role calls for consistent execution of HR practices across the region, with a strong focus on building an engaged workforce, strengthening performance culture, and acting as an effective business partner for regional stakeholders.
Recruitment and manpower support
- Coordinate hiring across the region in line with budget limits and the approved manpower plan.
- Support sourcing and hiring for roles up to Manager level within the expected turnaround time.
- Work to improve hiring quality while keeping critical positions closed as quickly as possible.
- Use the right sourcing channels to keep recruitment costs within approved budgets.
- Ensure compensation offered during hiring stays aligned with the approved salary bands.
HR operations
- Oversee consistent handling of HR operations related to joining, compensation, exits, and other employee lifecycle processes across branches, regions, and business verticals.
- Coordinate with HR and payroll contact points to resolve employee queries.
- Support the move to a shared services model and serve as the first escalation point for unresolved issues.
Attrition management
- Conduct structured exit interviews for all exits up to Manager level and maintain proper records.
- Review regional attrition trends and identify the primary causes behind employee exits.
- Design and implement local actions such as skip-level interactions, open houses, and similar initiatives to address employee concerns and reduce attrition.
- Work with L1, L2, and L3 leaders during branch visits to counsel employees facing disciplinary or behavioural issues.
Organizational development and engagement initiatives
- Run employee engagement, fun, and participation initiatives across the region on an ongoing basis.
- Promote the employee referral program and encourage stronger participation.
- Support branch managers in dealing with indiscipline, absconding cases, performance improvement plans, and other employee relations matters.
- Drive corporate HR initiatives such as Poornata, OHS action planning, goal setting, and Q12 activities as required.
- Conduct structured induction sessions for all new joiners immediately after joining.
HR norms and compliance
- Ensure branch visits follow the required statutory and audit checklist standards.
- Escalate cases of non-compliance and help drive quick resolution.
- Educate sales and support teams on HR norms during branch visits when gaps are observed.
Employee relations and code of conduct
- Create awareness of the code of conduct among employees in the region.
- Independently investigate reported breaches and recommend appropriate action.
- Handle alerts and related cases quickly and thoroughly, then submit detailed reports to the whistleblower committee.
- Clarify people-practice SOPs through meetings and workshops to maintain a healthy working environment in the region.
