Role Overview

ECMD serves big-box retailers and pro lumber yards across the country, supplying builders, remodelers, finish carpenters, and consumers through a network of eight business divisions.

What You’ll Do

The Regional District Manager supports the President of ECMD Distribution in strengthening supplier and customer partnerships across the Home Center or Retail Channel. This role also oversees the operational performance of field service employees and customer service representatives, while partnering with the ECMD Distribution Director of Sales to drive sales initiatives for Specialty Products Retail Customers.

  • Build and sustain strong supplier and customer relationships.
  • Address operational issues at both corporate and field levels to help drive sales.
  • Lead and monitor Regional Managers and District Regional Managers to ensure excellent customer service and delivery on the company’s sales and service commitments.
  • Coordinate training plans, onboarding support, and ongoing guidance for team members.
  • Assist the CSR manager and customer service team with questions and problem-solving.
  • Keep District Managers updated on company policies, new sales programs, and related changes.
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance schedules are followed and required vehicle records remain up to date, while reinforcing safety responsibilities.
  • Plan workforce needs and conduct orientation for new hires.
  • Develop cross-training across area employees to support efficiency and business continuity during absences or vacations.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety rules, and housekeeping standards.
  • Work with logistics teams to plan, coordinate, and implement delivery schedules.
  • Participate actively in market and pricing checks throughout the Home Center Channel.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance as an essential part of the role.
  • Read, speak, and understand English proficiently.

Requirements

  • Professional communication and customer-handling skills.
  • Strong organizational ability and comfort using computers.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to travel overnight when needed.
  • Ability to perform all duties expected of a District Manager and Territory Service Representative.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays when required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sustain ordinary conversation, hearing, and visual focus.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods and move around offices and customer sites as needed.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds repeatedly.

Additional Details

This is a full-time, first-shift field position based in Chattanooga, TN. Compensation is dependent on experience.
