Role Overview
The Recycling Sorter will support plant operations by inspecting incoming materials, separating recyclables, removing contamination from the sorting line, and helping maintain a clean and safe work environment. This role is important to the efficiency, safety, and quality standards of the facility.
Key Duties
- Examine materials and place them into the correct designated areas.
- Remove non-compliant or contaminated items from the sorting line.
- Carry out cleaning tasks for equipment and general plant housekeeping.
- Keep a strong attendance record and consistently meet safety and quality expectations.
- Use personal protective equipment as required.
- Follow all safe work procedures and site safety practices.
Requirements
Candidates should be comfortable with repetitive physical work for long periods and able to lift items weighing up to 20 lb. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are needed to understand and respond to questions, instructions, signs, signals, and safety training. The job also requires the ability to work outdoors or in changing weather conditions and to work overtime when needed. Forklift licensing is considered an advantage.
Compensation
The wage for this position is $20.59 per hour.
