About the Role
South West Norse, in partnership with Medway Council, is seeking a dedicated Recycling Operative for their HWRC Recycling Centre in Medway. This is a full-time, permanent position involving 40 hours of work per week. The role focuses on assisting the public with waste recycling, operating machinery, and maintaining site standards.
Responsibilities
- Guide and assist the public in recycling their waste according to site regulations.
- Operate compacting machinery safely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous or toxic waste.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the recycling site in line with company procedures.
- Be available to work across different sites as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in waste management or recycling is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A customer-focused approach when interacting with the public.
- Familiarity with operating compacting machinery is preferred.
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety guidelines relevant to waste management.
