About the Company
The Boring Company set out to address gridlock by building an underground tunnel network. Its current focus is on improving tunneling technology so it can move much faster and cost far less, with the long-term aim of making Hyperloop practical and enabling high-speed transportation across densely populated areas.
Role Overview
As a Recruiter, you will play a key part in developing a strong hiring function that can find, attract, and bring in outstanding talent. The role covers sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates ranging from entry-level hires to senior leaders, including engineers and trade professionals in the U.S. and overseas. Because you may be the first person a candidate meets from the company, you will be expected to represent the organization with confidence, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm. Success in this position requires independence, initiative, and comfort working in a fast-moving startup setting.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with hiring managers to clarify staffing requirements, improve job requisitions, draft targeted postings, and align on hiring plans and interview feedback.
- Find qualified candidates through creative channels such as LinkedIn, professional communities, trade schools, and vocational institutions.
- Review resumes, run first-round interviews, and recommend strong candidates to hiring managers with clear rationale.
- Own the end-to-end hiring process, including interview scheduling, candidate visits, offer discussions, and background verification.
- Spot recruiting bottlenecks and suggest practical improvements to make the process more efficient.
- Coach hiring managers and internal teams on effective recruiting and interviewing practices.
- Plan and deliver recruiting initiatives like job fairs, site visits, and online information sessions.
- Develop and maintain connections with diverse talent pools, trade unions, and industry groups to strengthen hiring pipelines.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a similar discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 2 years of recruiting experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or skilled trades.
- Demonstrated success as an internal or agency recruiter in high-volume, fast-paced settings.
- Ability to recruit for production and operational roles in advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, or startup environments is preferred.
- Experience using unconventional sourcing methods, including targeted LinkedIn outreach, industry events, and apprenticeship partnerships, is preferred.
- Strong judgment for identifying top-performing production talent and distinguishing exceptional candidates from average ones.
- Excellent relationship-management skills, especially when working with directors and vice presidents.
- Must be able to work on-site in Las Vegas, Nevada, five days per week.
