Role overview

Rakuten Kobo is seeking a Recruiter for a six-month contract to support its Global Recruitment team in Toronto. In this role, you will collaborate with business leaders across the organization to find strong talent and help build teams that support the company’s growth and culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Run the recruitment process end to end while keeping the candidate experience smooth, consistent, and positive.
  • Find qualified talent, screen resumes, conduct initial candidate conversations, and keep interviews progressing on schedule.
  • Use AI-enabled tools and generative technology to improve sourcing accuracy, tailor candidate outreach, and increase efficiency.
  • Coordinate and lead interview feedback discussions.
  • Research new sourcing avenues using market knowledge and competitive intelligence.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and recruiting stakeholders to identify candidates who are a strong match for Kobo.
  • Source talent through LinkedIn Recruiter and other recruiting platforms.
  • Support offer approval, offer delivery, and compensation negotiation.
  • Ensure candidates receive high-quality communication and support throughout the hiring process.
  • Represent the company at external hiring events and career fairs when needed.

Qualifications and experience

  • 3 to 5 years of recruitment experience, ideally with both agency and in-house exposure.
  • Background in hiring for both technical and non-technical roles.
  • Comfort using AI tools to reduce manual work, improve sourcing, and speed up recruiting operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicant tracking systems such as Workday, LinkedIn Recruiter, and related recruiting tools.
  • Ability to assess candidate fit and align talent with the right opportunities.
  • Proven experience in full-cycle technical recruiting in a corporate setting with cross-functional partners.
  • Adaptable and able to adjust quickly when priorities change.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to perform effectively in a fast-moving environment with a strong sense of urgency.
  • International recruitment experience is considered an advantage.
