Recipe Specialist

Role overview

As a Recipe Specialist, you will work under the Recipe Technician Manager and partner closely with Research & Development and Testing teams. Your focus will be on making sure each recipe aligns with company standards for quality and day-to-day operations. You will evaluate recipes at multiple stages of development, review approved and in-progress formulas, and keep Crumbl’s internal recipe instruction library current before, during, and after products go live for franchise partners and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Support recipe creation by completing detailed reviews of each developed recipe before testing and launch.
• Work across teams by preparing clear reports, documentation, and instructional materials that help maintain strong product quality and smooth processes.
• Check recipes and operational workflows, then help refine standards, procedures, and policies so results stay consistent across the company.
• Adapt recipes for international use by confirming ingredient details, preparation methods, cultural considerations, and processes that can scale.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and ready for recipe assessments and work done by other teams.
• Coordinate with bakers, share workspace appropriately, and communicate clearly about ingredients and tools.
• Identify and resolve quality, operations, and ingredient issues, and make sure approved changes are reflected in the recipe instructions before launch.
• Capture photo and video content for recipes under testing while following brand and operational standards; may also help with editing and uploading documentation.
• Help maintain the menu database and recipe instructional library on an ongoing basis.
• Develop process improvements, test ideas, and implement changes that reduce defects.
• Assist with troubleshooting and build a strong understanding of product processes at scale.
• Stay up to date on food and beverage innovation, including equipment and quality program trends.
• Spot and communicate production patterns and trends.
• Strengthen operational execution during recipe development with an emphasis on scalability and store-level quality control.
• Create standardized production procedures that improve consistency and efficiency.
• Prepare detailed project reports with insights, operational recommendations, and data-backed conclusions for teammates and leadership.
• Contribute to version 1 instructional design for recipes based on assessment findings.
• Travel occasionally as needed.
• Follow food safety requirements in all recipe work, including documenting times, temperatures, and methods.
• Support the Recipe Technician Manager with other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Crumbl experience, ideally in a management position.
• A self-driven person who takes initiative.
