Role overview

Harvey’s Point in Friary, Lough Eske, County Donegal is looking for a Receptionist / Reservations Agent to join its award-winning hotel team. The property is a certified Great Place to Work, with more than 90% of employees saying they are proud to work there.

Harvey’s Point is a 4-star luxury hotel overlooking Lough Eske with the Bluestack Mountains as a backdrop. It has been a leader in the Irish luxury hotel market for more than 30 years and offers 101 bedrooms with scenic views.

Key duties

  • Deliver a smooth front desk experience, including guest check-in, guest check-out, and audit procedures where needed.
  • Manage incoming telephone reservations and respond to customer questions professionally.
  • Provide standout service by building rapport, understanding guest needs, and aiming to go beyond expectations.
  • Take responsibility for guest concerns and resolve issues promptly.
  • Handle cash in line with company policy and established procedures.
  • Support the reception area with office administration such as correspondence, emails, and filing.
  • Stay current on room rates and special promotions so guests receive accurate information.

Candidate profile

This is a full-time position working rotating shifts, including weekends. The ideal candidate communicates confidently in both spoken and written English, presents well, and has a friendly, professional manner. The role also requires the ability to perform effectively in a busy, high-pressure environment. A strong sales orientation is important, as is the ability to represent and promote the Harvey’s Point experience.

Previous exposure to revenue management systems is considered helpful, and familiarity with Hotsoft PMS would be an advantage.
