Job description

About the Role

Allevia Radiology is a progressive diagnostic imaging provider using advanced technology and a highly regarded clinical team to deliver outstanding imaging services and patient care. With several locations across greater Auckland, the organisation offers everything from general X-ray through to modern Nuclear Medicine Therapy, and continues to expand.

This position is for a Team Leader to guide, support, and grow a capable group of Medical Receptionists who deliver excellent service to patients. Success in the role depends not just on healthcare exposure, but on strong leadership, organisation, and the ability to bring out the best in others.

You will report to the Reception Manager and work in a busy, energetic environment where building strong working relationships is essential. The role is permanent and full time, usually Monday to Friday with some variation from week to week, plus occasional weekend work. You will also work across three branches in Rosedale, Westgate, and St Lukes, giving the position plenty of variety and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the medical reception team.
  • Take part in recruiting, selecting, and onboarding new reception staff.
  • Support team performance through coaching, appraisal, and motivation.
  • Coordinate staff rosters and handle timesheet submission.
  • Manage invoicing, payment processing, and other administrative tasks.

What the Employer Is Looking For

  • A demonstrated background in team leadership across more than one site.
  • Prior experience working in medical reception.
  • Strong computer and technology skills, with confidence in learning new systems quickly.
  • Experience with COMRAD would be an advantage.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with staff, patients, and referrers.
  • A high standard of professionalism, presentation, and personal accountability.
  • Willingness and ability to travel between the three branches.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive pay plus a travel allowance.
  • Five weeks of annual leave.
  • A generous subsidy on health insurance.
  • Employee Assistance Programme support.
  • Complimentary seasonal flu vaccinations.
  • Discounted access to health services.
  • Discounted gym memberships.
  • Boost membership with retail savings from more than 50 New Zealand suppliers.
  • Recognition awards for long service.
  • Buddy scheme for new recruits.

Additional Information

This is a strong opportunity to join a growing private healthcare organisation at an exciting stage of development.

Applications close at midday on Monday, 13 July 2026, although the employer may withdraw the listing earlier if the right person is found before then.

Applicants must already be living in New Zealand and have permanent work eligibility in the country.
