About the Role

Join a space-technology company focused on advanced deployable antenna reflector systems for domestic and international missions. This position is for an R&D Engineer who enjoys practical engineering work and contributing to hardware that is intended for orbital use.

You will be involved throughout the product development journey, from early concept creation and analysis through to prototyping, integration, and testing. The role offers the chance to work with specialists in a collaborative environment and help turn new ideas into flight-ready space solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and refine concepts for deployable antenna reflectors and related spacecraft subsystems.
  • Run structural, thermal, and mechanical simulations to check performance under launch and space conditions.
  • Develop prototypes and carry out lab and environmental tests, including vibration, thermal vacuum, and deployment trials.
  • Research and assess new materials, manufacturing methods, and technologies suitable for space use.
  • Support integration and assembly activities to translate R&D outputs into flight hardware and practical manufacturing solutions.
  • Prepare technical documents, test summaries, and presentation material for reviews and customer-facing work.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, RF, systems, manufacturing, and external partners on cross-functional development work.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps, patent ideas, and proposals for future space missions.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in the European space sector.
  • Strong understanding of structures, mechanisms, and/or space systems.
  • Solid programming ability in Python and MATLAB.
  • Practical experience with SolidWorks, FEMAP, Ansys, and Nastran.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • A proactive, motivated mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Comfort working independently and in teams, meeting deadlines, and maintaining a careful eye for detail.

Benefits

  • A demanding and dynamic role at the cutting edge of space technology.
  • Opportunity for personal growth and professional development within a diverse team of specialists.
  • Flexible working hours with core hours in place.
  • Relaxed workplace culture with a flat management structure and an open, motivated team.
  • Casual dress code.
  • An approachable environment where concerns are heard and addressed.
