What you’ll do

Your day-to-day work will centre on aircraft turnaround support and ramp handling tasks. You’ll help keep operations moving safely and efficiently while working closely with your team and other airport staff.

  • Load and unload baggage and freight
  • Carry out fleet cleaning duties
  • Handle baggage makeup services
  • Operate tarmac equipment
  • Guide passengers as they move on the ramp

Working environment

The role operates in a fast-moving, team-based setting where safety remains the top priority. You’ll need to adapt quickly, stay alert, and contribute reliably across a 24-hour airport operation.

Eligibility and requirements

Applicants must meet the listed conditions to be considered. Prior ground operations experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided to the selected candidate.

  • Previous ground operations experience is preferred
  • Availability for a part-time rotating roster across 7 days and 24 hours
  • Only candidates who have not completed a Ramp Services recruitment process in the past 12 months will be considered
  • Current Australian driver’s licence with a clean driving history for more than 6 months
  • Flexibility to handle unplanned operational changes and shift adjustments
  • Strong safety mindset and the confidence to use initiative with minimal supervision
  • Good work ethic, communication skills, interpersonal ability, and a flexible approach
  • Genuine enjoyment of working with people and delivering strong customer service
  • Willingness to complete full training

Training and development

The successful applicant will receive full training, along with on-the-job coaching and access to formal development opportunities. The role also offers the chance to build a longer-term career path within a large aviation organisation.

Employee benefits

  • Flexible leave options, including 18 weeks of paid parental leave for eligible employees, plus superannuation on paid and unpaid parental leave until the child turns 1, and additional purchased leave options
  • Access to a wide range of discounts across shopping, food and wine, insurance, health and wellbeing, leisure, and entertainment
  • Salary packaging benefits for motor vehicles, eligible portable electronic devices, and professional memberships
  • Heavily discounted air travel within Australia and internationally for employees, family, and friends
  • Exclusive accommodation and holiday offers
  • Wellbeing support through mental health learning resources, a wellbeing app, and tailored nutrition planning
