Role Overview

This placement opportunity is for a Quantity Surveyor Intern reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will support Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors in monitoring the financial performance of assigned contracts and in producing related reports.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Commercial team and Project Managers to ensure contract administration is handled correctly and projects remain compliant.
  • Support the creation of cash flow forecasts and other project performance reports.
  • Help prepare monthly interim valuations for submission to clients.
  • Assist the site management team with subcontract package administration, including preparing tender invitations and final account documentation.
  • Contribute to timely and accurate contract administration, including drafting Early Warning Notices.
  • Support cash flow control by updating client payment trackers and flagging any deductions applied.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Quantity Surveying degree programme, or a closely related course.
  • This placement is intended for someone who will return to college or university after completing the assignment; it is not a graduate-level position.
  • Should have a solid academic base and an interest in building hands-on engineering experience in a live project setting.
  • Needs enthusiasm for learning and applying engineering principles to practical work.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills are essential for working effectively in a professional team.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing to work on site and adapt to a fast-moving project environment.
  • Should be committed to strong Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability standards.

Additional Information

This is a structured placement opportunity rather than a permanent graduate role. The position is based in the Galway Metropolitan Area and requires onsite attendance.
