Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team, responsible for cost management and procurement throughout construction projects to ensure budgets are maintained and quality standards met.
Responsibilities
- Carry out quantity take-off and cost estimation for projects.
- Manage ordering of materials and track budgets for main items such as rebars and tiles.
- Handle measurements, payment responses, and variation orders for subcontractors.
- Prepare tender submissions within stipulated deadlines.
- Source, negotiate, and award contracts to vendors.
- Administer tendering and contract documents, including preparation of bills of quantities (BQ), cost estimation, control, and budgeting.
- Monitor actual construction costs relative to contract scope and quality requirements.
- Ensure effective cost control to keep project expenditures within budget.
- Advise project teams on contractual rights and arbitration procedures in case of disputes.
- Conduct thorough assessments of costs and schedules for all project activities.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying.
- At least 2 years of relevant construction industry experience.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with construction materials and procurement practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam software.
- Knowledge of Building Construction Works, Singapore Contracts Law, and regulations is advantageous.
