Job description

Role Overview

This opportunity is for a Quantitative Researcher based in New York City or the San Francisco Bay Area. The compensation target is $300,000 to $500,000 in base and bonus, with meaningful additional upside through incentive compensation. The firm is building a new approach to financing high-growth technology companies by supplying growth capital without equity dilution.

The platform is backed by highly accomplished technology investors and entrepreneurs and is working to reshape how venture-backed businesses raise and scale capital. This is a highly selective role that sits at the overlap of quantitative investing, software engineering, venture capital, and growth finance. It is not a standard quant position.

You will work closely with senior investors, founders, CFOs, and operators to assess fast-growing companies, design proprietary underwriting systems, and contribute to investment decisions involving substantial capital deployment.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Play a part in creating a new financing category that is changing how growth companies access capital.
  • Collaborate directly with leading founders, investors, and operators in technology.
  • Combine rigorous quantitative work with meaningful influence on business and investment outcomes.
  • Join a lean startup-style environment while benefiting from institutional backing and resources.
  • Take on substantial responsibility from day one and shape high-impact initiatives independently.
  • Develop technology-enabled investing tools, automation, and models that improve decision-making.
  • Receive highly competitive compensation with significant long-term upside.

Key Responsibilities

You will evaluate investment opportunities, strengthen portfolio oversight, develop internal technology, and contribute to special projects that improve investment performance and platform strategy.

Evaluation of Investment Opportunities

  • Study customer cohorts, retention patterns, growth efficiency, and unit economics.
  • Create quantitative models to measure risk and expected return.
  • Carry out detailed due diligence on emerging technology businesses.
  • Support capital allocation decisions and broader investment judgments.

Portfolio Management and Enhancement

  • Track performance across current investments.
  • Spot potential risks and opportunities early.
  • Work directly with founders and finance teams to improve outcomes.
  • Shape strategic decisions using data-backed insights.

Building Proprietary Technology

  • Design internal software, analytics tools, and automation systems.
  • Raise underwriting precision and improve operational efficiency.
  • Use Python and modern data infrastructure to expand investment workflows.
  • Build systems that create durable competitive advantages.

Special Projects

  • Develop original ideas that can significantly influence investment results.
  • Investigate new datasets, forecasting methods, and underwriting approaches.
  • Help influence the long-term direction of the platform.

Ideal Background

The preferred candidate has 2 to 10 years of experience in quantitative research, trading, data science, machine learning, quantitative investing, or a closely related analytical discipline. Strong Python skills are important, along with sharp analytical judgment and strong problem-solving ability.

You should be able to turn complex quantitative ideas into practical business recommendations, think entrepreneurially, and enjoy building new systems rather than only refining existing ones. Interest in venture capital, startups, technology, and alternative investing is also important.

Who Will Thrive

This role suits someone who wants more than a conventional quantitative research seat. The best fit will bring the discipline of a researcher, the inventiveness of a builder, and the commercial awareness of an investor. If you want to help finance the next generation of category-defining technology companies while creating advanced quantitative systems, this is a rare chance to make a large impact at an early-stage platform.

Additional Information

Two openings are available, as the team is scaling aggressively.

The role is for on-site work in either New York City or San Francisco, California.

This is a full-time position.

No separate stipend, notice period, start date, or application deadline was specified.
