Job description

Company overview

A global industrial metals supplier is expanding its regional operations and is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join the team in Singapore. The business works with alloy steel, chrome, nickel, and carbon materials, and offers pipe, tube, bar, and machining solutions for industries that need dependable performance. Its services are centered on materials control, logistics coordination, and fast turnaround support for customers in energy, agriculture, construction, and aerospace.

Role summary

This position acts as the local quality lead, responsible for inspecting and approving raw materials such as tubes and bars, while ensuring that handling, rework, and shipment activities follow the correct procedures and work instructions. The role requires strong familiarity with the company’s material processes and the ability to represent quality standards on behalf of the organization. You will work closely with regional leaders in Singapore and quality teams in Texas to manage non-conformances and carry out corrective actions. The role may also involve visiting customer sites to review and resolve quality concerns or product issues.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out incoming and receiving inspections, then formally approve them in line with SAS procedures and work instructions.
  • Perform in-process inspections and sign-offs according to required procedures.
  • Complete final inspections and authorization of materials before release.
  • Record and report non-conformances as needed.
  • Confirm that all inspection tools are properly calibrated or verified before use.
  • Support corrective action activities, training efforts, and any additional inspection tasks requested by customers or management.

Experience and technical background

The preferred background includes 2 to 5 years in a quality-related role supporting oil and gas raw material handling, including bar stock, mechanical tube, and OCTG tubing/casing. Practical experience with portable Brinell hardness testing is important, along with the ability to review material test reports and certifications. You should also be comfortable using measurement tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to identify dimensions and tolerances.

Work arrangement and compensation

This is a fully onsite role based in Singapore. The compensation offered is up to USD 55,000 per year, depending on experience.
