About the role
Scotiabank is looking for a QA Analyst to join its Global Fraud Authentications Technology team in Toronto, Ontario. The team builds and supports products that help respond to an evolving fraud threat environment, working closely with business stakeholders and technology partners across the bank. This role sits within Global Operations Technology and helps ensure initiatives are delivered in line with regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
What you'll do
- Partner with developers to carry out manual testing, prepare test data, and run exploratory, system, regression, migration, backend, and user acceptance testing.
- Prepare defect documentation that is clear, specific, and focused on customer quality impact, then help prioritize issues with the development team.
- Build functional tests that are easy to understand, concise, and maintainable, using reusable domain-specific testing components wherever possible.
- Work closely with developers throughout delivery and contribute quality feedback across the software lifecycle.
- Support product design and requirements discussions, and help estimate effort for planning activities such as test creation, execution, framework improvements, scripting, and environment setup.
- Define and execute acceptance checks based on requirements, and refine test approaches when needed to ensure coverage and usefulness.
Required experience and skills
The ideal candidate brings hands-on QA experience and can operate effectively in an agile, fast-moving environment. The role calls for strong analytical thinking, solid communication, and the ability to turn business requirements into practical test strategies and scripts. Experience with reporting, estimation, and continuous collaboration with technical teams is important.
Tools and technical focus
- Postman for API testing.
- Google Cloud Platform BigQuery for SQL-based testing on large datasets.
- Confluent Kafka pipelines, message movement, and validation of downstream data.
- QA processes, testing methodologies, agile delivery, and testing procedures.
