Role Summary
This position is for a PWHT Technician who will carry out post weld heat treatment tasks on-site for engineering and construction assignments in Abu Dhabi. The role is full-time and requires careful preparation of tools and materials, installation and supervision of heat treatment activities, and strict compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety rules. The technician is expected to document process values, keep records accurate, and escalate any process variation or equipment malfunction without delay. Day-to-day work includes coordinating with supervisors, welders, and quality control staff to help maintain project timelines and produce consistent, reliable outcomes. The role is site-based and demands close adherence to safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Key Qualifications
- Proven hands-on background in carrying out post weld heat treatment on pipes, vessels, and structural parts in industrial or construction settings.
- Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ASME, API, and related engineering requirements, along with the ability to read technical drawings and follow work instructions.
- Experience using and servicing PWHT systems, temperature regulation equipment, and measurement devices such as thermocouples and data loggers.
- Strong commitment to site safety, with understanding of safe working methods, risk evaluation, and correct use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to prepare precise logs, reports, and quality records, and communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and quality assurance teams.
- Experience in oil and gas, power generation, or other heavy industrial environments is an added advantage.
- Technical certification or vocational training in welding, metallurgy, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
- Must be willing to work on-site, including shifts or longer hours when project schedules require it, and work well within a varied team.
