Role Overview
This New York City-based position plays an important part in delivering marketing and public relations plans for Valentino Americas. The PR Coordinator supports the Communications team each day, helping raise brand awareness, secure editorial visibility, and build relationships across the North American market.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and coordinate North American sample requests for Valentino, Valentino Uomo, and Valentino Haute Couture editorial needs.
- Develop strong working relationships with editors, stylists, and other influential industry contacts, and help maintain those connections over time.
- Work alongside the PR Manager to keep global and local product priorities aligned within editorial planning.
- Assist with creating and delivering local content programs and storytelling opportunities.
- Draft seasonal media pitches that connect with major product launches and important regional moments.
- Collaborate with the PR Manager and headquarters teams to obtain coverage for campaigns, events, and broader brand projects.
- Support gifting plans for seasonal moments and specific initiatives, ensuring they reflect brand image and the intended audience.
- Gather, review, and circulate performance reports using platforms such as Launchmetrics and Lefty.
- Manage show-related requests and guest lists, and assist with editorial review and seating planning together with leadership.
- Coordinate with headquarters and local stakeholders on influencer activities and brand partnership efforts.
- Track industry developments, competitor moves, and market activity to spot opportunities and keep the brand relevant.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred, though it is not mandatory.
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in fashion, retail, or luxury, ideally in a PR or communications position.
- Ability to work independently, act proactively, and bring creative thinking to daily work.
- Strong coordination and prioritization skills to handle several tasks in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Excellent spoken, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Careful attention to detail, along with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Creative tools such as InDesign and Adobe CC.
- Exposure to PR and analytics tools like Launchmetrics and Lefty is an advantage.
- Team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Helpful background in retail, photography, digital content, and e-commerce.
Compensation
The role is paid at an hourly rate of $25 to $29, depending on experience, and this range may be adjusted.
