Job description
Role Overview
Cliniked’s Public Health Department is hiring for two contract-based, on-site Public Health Assistant roles: one in the field and one in the office. The positions support public health services focused on disinfection, disinsection, deratization (DDD), environmental hygiene, and client support.
Public Health Assistant - Field
This position is centered on field operations and service delivery at client locations.
- Carry out DDD services at client premises.
- Carry out an initial site review and evaluate sanitation and environmental health conditions.
- Apply approved DDD techniques in line with standard procedures and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Complete service logs, reports, and other field paperwork accurately.
- Handle, move, store, and use equipment and materials correctly.
- Communicate in a professional manner with clients before, during, and after services.
- Encourage compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and public health practices.
- Work with team members to organize and execute field interventions.
- Take on additional duties assigned by the Public Health Department.
Public Health Assistant - Office
This role focuses on administration, client outreach, and coordination from the office.
- Call new businesses to present and explain DDD services.
- Maintain and refresh business registers, client databases, and related records.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, protocol logs, and archive files.
- Track client requests, inquiries, appointments, and service follow-ups.
- Coordinate communication with businesses, institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Public Health Department.
- Monitor deadlines for contracts, reports, and administrative files.
- Help prepare reports, statistics, and departmental documentation.
- Support promotion of public health services and give clients basic information.
- Carry out other administrative tasks assigned by the department.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a degree in one of the following areas, or a closely related discipline:
- Social Sciences, such as Healthcare Social Work, Psychology, Institutional Psychology, or Social Administration.
- Health Sciences, such as Nursing, Public Health, Speech and Language Therapy, or Physiotherapy.
- Another relevant field connected to health, wellbeing, or healthcare administration.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are required, along with good organization and administrative skills. Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office or similar tools, is also expected. Prior work experience is helpful but not mandatory.
