About the Property

This role is based at Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort & Spa, a resort in Port Douglas, around one hour north of Cairns in Queensland. The property features studios, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments, plus a three-bedroom beachfront private villa. Guests can enjoy all-day dining at ALUCO Restaurant & Bar, a laid-back Pool Bar, and Vie Spa, which offers customised facials and relaxing massages. The resort also includes two meeting rooms for up to 200 people and three additional wedding venues, serving both holidaymakers and business travellers. In your time off, the surrounding region offers experiences such as the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

Role Purpose

As a Public Area Attendant, you will be part of the Housekeeping team and will help keep all shared spaces spotless, neat, and welcoming. This position suits someone who is comfortable working independently as well as with colleagues, and who enjoys interacting with guests to assist with their questions and requests.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain the overall presentation of the property so it always looks polished from the inside and outside.
  • Clean and refresh public spaces such as the pool area, gym, and shared bathrooms to the required hygiene and presentation standards.
  • Use cleaning machinery, tools, and chemicals carefully and in line with safety practices.
  • Support guests with general enquiries and security-related concerns, while working closely with other teams to get tasks completed.
  • Act as a key observer for maintenance and guest services by promptly reporting issues such as repair needs, damaged equipment, or missing items.

Experience and Attributes

Prior work in a similar position, such as cleaner, room attendant, or public area attendant, will be an advantage. You should communicate in a friendly and approachable way, pay close attention to detail, manage your time efficiently, and take pride in doing quality work. The role also calls for flexibility, physical capability to work across indoor and outdoor areas, including stairways and uncovered spaces, and a collaborative mindset when working with people from different backgrounds. Reliable transport is needed, along with the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
