Position overview

The AWO Saarland counseling center "Neue Wege" in Saarbrücken is hiring a psychologist for a project focused on preventing sexual violence. The role is available immediately and is set up as a full-time position with 39.5 working hours per week.

About the project

For 25 years, the counseling service has been supporting young people from the age of 14 who have engaged in sexual violence. This new position is intended to help build a prevention project that responds to growing demand for counseling and to changing everyday realities, especially the influence of digital media. The aim is to raise awareness early and give professionals practical guidance and confidence when dealing with sexual boundary violations.

What you will do

• Work with schools and other public youth-service institutions
• Create engaging materials for prevention work with young people
• Present and promote the project idea to potential partner organizations and clients
• Deliver prevention sessions in schools and other public youth-work settings
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the center’s concept and services

What we are looking for

• A completed degree in psychology (M.A./Dipl.) or qualification as a psychological psychotherapist, or a comparable academic background
• A respectful, appreciative approach toward young clients, along with a genuine interest in supporting them toward a law-abiding life
• A stable and well-grounded personality with a consistently respectful attitude

Terms and conditions

The position follows TV AWO Saarland, pay grade EG 12. It is project-based and fixed-term until 31.12.2026.
